How do I become a Driving Instructor

There is a three part process to qualifying as a driving instructor:

Instructor Training Part 1
The theory test has 2 parts, part 1 is a multiple choice test of 100 questions and part 2 is a hazard perception test. You must pass both parts at the same time.

Instructor Training Part 2
The ADI part 2 test of driving ability is an advanced driving test and a high standard of competence is required so that what you teach your pupils will be in line with the latest driving techniques and standards. This will be carried out by a driving standards agency examiner.

Instructor Training Part 3
Part 3 is a test of instructional ability and you will need to show that you can instruct at various levels i.e. a novice learner and a learner driver at test standard. This is carried out by a driving standards agency examiner who will role-play a learner driver.

After you pass parts 1 and 2 you are eligible to start teaching as a trainee driving instructor if you wish.

Contact us at Diva Wheelz for more information. We offer one to one training which we can structure around your current work commitments.
